Vector Engineers served as project geotechnical engineers for the design of Louisville Metropolitan Sewer District’s proposed 16.1 million gallon CSO Logan Street Storage basin and approximately 11,000 linear foot Beargrass Creek conveyance. The project is located in central Jefferson County, spanning a large area of downtown Louisville along the Beargrass Creek channel. Vector Engineers performed soil borings, rock soundings, and laboratory testing to characterize subsurface soil conditions in the basin site, proposed conveyance, and CSO interceptor locations. In addition, Vector Engineers conducted a trench constructibility study to assess the stability of the existing improved Beargrass Creek channel walls and foundations in order to minimize project complications during construction.
